Privacy Policy
PitchNudge tells you when someone reads a proposal you shared. This page explains, in plain words, what information that takes and what we never touch.
Who this covers
Account holders are the people who sign up and upload proposals. Readers are the people who open a proposal link that an account holder shared with them.
What we collect from account holders
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form we cannot read.
- The PDF files you upload, along with the names and client labels you give them.
- The web address you use the dashboard from, so the links in your alert emails point to the right place.
- Your plan, and billing details if you subscribe to Unlimited. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
- Any extra alert email addresses you choose to add on Unlimited, and whether each one is switched on.
- Short text snippets from each page of your PDF (a couple of sentences per page), used to name pages in your reading reports.
What we collect when a reader opens a link
- When the proposal was opened and roughly how long it stayed on screen.
- Which pages were on screen and for how long, how many times a page was revisited, and the furthest page reached.
- The general type of device (phone, tablet or computer), worked out from the browser. The full browser details are not stored.
- A random code saved in the reader's browser, so we can tell a repeat visit apart from a new device. It contains no personal details.
- A scrambled, one-way version of the network address, used only to stop the same source from creating floods of views. We never store the actual address.
- The browser type, checked at the moment of viewing to filter out automated link scanners. It is not stored.
We do not collect readers' names, email addresses, location, or anything they type. Every proposal page shows a notice that the sender is told when it is viewed.
What we never do
- We never ask for access to your inbox, LinkedIn account, contacts, or calendar.
- We never sell or rent personal information, and never use it for advertising.
- We never use your proposals or reading data to train AI models, and we never share proposal contents except to show them to people who have the link and, on Unlimited, to generate your insights as described below.
How information is used
- To show proposals to the people you share them with.
- To send you "they are reading now" alerts and show viewing history on your dashboard.
- On Unlimited, to calculate an interest score, write a summary of each visit, and draft follow-up messages for you.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To send essential account emails, such as password resets.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run PitchNudge: hosting and database storage, an email delivery service for alerts, and a payment processor for subscriptions. They only process information as needed to provide their service to us.
For Unlimited AI insights, we send the proposal title, client label, the short page snippets and the reading statistics to OpenAI to generate summaries and follow-up drafts. Reader names, emails and network addresses are never included. OpenAI does not use data sent through its business service to train its models.
Security and storage
Uploaded files are stored privately. Each proposal link contains a long random code that cannot practically be guessed, and you can switch any link off at any time. File access granted to a reader expires automatically.
Keeping and deleting your information
- Your information is kept while your account is open.
- Deleting a proposal removes its file and its viewing history.
- Deleting your account (in the dashboard, under Account) permanently removes your account, every file, and all viewing history.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Most of this you can do yourself in the dashboard. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are a reader and want a view record removed, contact the person who sent you the link or email us.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, email account holders.
